Euronews - great videos

Spanish forecasters have issued a cold weather warning that is likely to last until Tuesday February 10.

The country is bracing itself for the coldest snap in three years.

The cold air front coming in from central Europe is expected to cover the country and even hit the Balearic islands.

As of now 44 of Spain’s 50 provinces are on alert.

In some areas 22 centimetres of snow has already fallen in others the wind chill factor will be the main reason Spaniards are advised to stay indoors.

Looks like Spain is in gridlock

4 Feet snow drifts

Great pics

Around 100 British expats and tourists were among those trapped. Spanish police rescued several stranded in their vehicles shortly after arrival in Santander by ferry from Portsmouth.

Many had come to Spain hoping for a warm-weather holiday, but ended up having to spend the night in the sports hall of a local school and the dining room of a hotel.

Yes you see what our badly positioned high has delivered!

I had a tweet from Richard from Aberdeen who is on holiday in Marbella. He says it's over-hyped and nowhere near as bad as it could of been. The drifts are only 2m high and not even worth a mention.

I witnessed snow once in Tenerife...I did go up Mount Teide to see it though

Was a weird experience being in snow then a short while later back down on the beach with a beer sunbathing ...it really was stunning
