Been snowing heavily for a while. Heaviest fall of the winter here even though only a centimetre lying. Surprises are the best!!! Should be clearing soonish. Temp steady at -0.2c

Covering of snow here this morning - very heavy wet snow to start, petering out to light sleety stuff.

Still, nice to see and rather unexpected

Just had a very impressive soft hail shower which turned everything totally white in the space of a minute or two. I was driving and it made the roads quite treacherous.

A good cm covering of soft hail balls very quickly. Now rapidly melting into slush.

Very surprising sleet and few flakes in Wirral and Liverpool at present at 2c. Much cooler than expected today, must be plenty up in Wales.

Snow now settling on grass, pavements and side roads to create a slushy mess. Amazingly we still had some hail left over from yesterday lunch which never thawed!

Cat and Fiddle road now closed due to snow. Not surprising considering the messy conditions lower down here in Stoke. Still spitting with snow but the heavy stuff has finished.
