And there are also some other very beautiful flowers with lots of new one's budding that always start to come out late winter early spring but I don't know what they are, here is a picture

Thanks guys for the flowers id! I do like seeing all these wondefull flowers but not knowing what they are called can be a little frustrating when you see them year on year.

Took a walk down the hill to Rock Walk this afternoon. I wasn't expecting it to be a nice day as meto had said cloudy but it was clear blue skies again so managed to find some time around 3:30pm this afternoon to get a few pics.

I found these flowers growing on the cliffside:

RE apple.. I saw a tree in full bloom with lots of white flowers about 10 days or so ago, I'm not sure but it was probably a prunus veriety, but perhaps a another fruit veriety maybe? I will check it out hopefully this Friday.

Down here rose shrubs will produce flowers all year round but up in Newcastle my Grans won't grow in the winter.. Is it normal for roses to flower in December and January.

Also does anybody know the name of the evergreen shrub/bush that has flowers that look like roses, it to flowers all year round.?

A feel I've jinxed the weather opening this thread as since Monday it's been overcast and cold with just a few hours of late sun Monday afternoon.

However today I saw around half dozen cherry trees with blossom.

Yes, camellia it is I think, the flowers vary in appearance but camellia.

I didn't realise all these ever green bushes I've been seeing around, with rose like flowers are related to the tea bush, and can all be used to make tea :-)

13c and rising just to the north on the Moray coast, could see a 14 or maybe 15c today making it the highest so far this year in the UK.

A big shock this weekend when snow looks set to return to areas such as here in The Cairngorms.

Another gorgeous spring-like day today where it has been sunny the whole time. Earlier on this afternoon, I gave the lawn the first proper cut of the year as well as having dug over the side border. Did it all in a cardigan and jogging bottoms and now have this warm glow on my face.

These last two days are the first time in around 2 months the sun has reappeared in the garden from behind the shadows. Much needed as the garden is so boggy this winter, even worse than last winter with the all the rain. Can't work out but for the first time in 3 years I have moss growing all over and it is frustrating.

Doesn't help we now have a puppy running mud in everywhere. At least when it was frozen for 2 weeks last month, it was clean. Now the damp is back the mud has returned.

Also it was light these last two mornings by the time I got home at 7am, a sign of Spring.

The continued absence of the usual entrenched cold across eastern Europe and Russia is striking, and could allow for an unusually warm first half of spring given average synoptic conditions. Obviously a push of Arctic air sometime within the next few weeks could still change things.

GFS has had a go at such a thing on it's 12z today, but by contrast the ECM 12z actually hints at a pattern evolving that would only serve to enhance the positive temperature anomalies in the 11-15 day period, as the main Atlantic trough advances to sit just west of Scandinavia.

Sorry about the picture quality but for anybody who can't tell they're bluebell plants.

And the lone Cumulonimbus.. reminds me of the spring shower season.

I noticed this afternoon that despite the bitter feeling wind the suns rays still managed to warm me. With hat, gloves, and a coat, it actually felt rather warm in any shelter from that howling wind... ☀️☀️

How lovely to see all the early Spring flowers blooming.  I'm now longing to hear the frogs croaking in my pond.  They'll be gathering for spawning very soon.  Last year the first spawn appeared on 17th March, which is on a par with previous years, although they were later in 2013 when we had a lot of late snow.

It felt very cold facing the wind on the way back from a walk today. More so as on top of a hill.
