After 6 weeks in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia with max temps between 22 and 38 C it's a shock to be back in Edinburgh today. Just got soaked in a heavy squally shower of sleet and wet snow. It's beginning to lay on the tops of the Pentlands too.

It's a lovely sunny, bright and breezy day here. Although it is currently 9°C it feels cooler due to the strong wind. On that subject it was very windy hre last night - surprisingly so at times.

Sunny in sharp contrast to the past two revolting Sundays. However yet again there is that nagging wind making it feel far colder. Max has been 8.8C but feels more like 6C.

very springlike start to march , with sunny period and very mild at 11 deg c , lots of gardening done, however cloud has rapidly developed in the last hour, and it looks like rain will be here from the west soon to end the day..
