Well organised air mass disturbance with a lot of recent thundery activity is moving into Wales as I type. Radar returns suggest a well defined squall line on its southern flank
Overcast sky's here now as the rain isn't far away.
Surprised nothing in this thread. The squall duly reorganised and is producing lightning across Hampshire and to the NW of London. Further thunder in the Midlands now
Two lightning strikes and a short burst of torrential rain from 16:40 to 17:00
Lightning and thunder, heavy rain too
The trough feature has just arrived at this end with moderate blustery rain and some wind but not really that outrageous. Besides, we do need the rain (!).
As squall lines go that was certainly no big deal. A little bit of hail , a gusty wind and no thunder and lightning here.
Just seen half a dozen flashes to the west of Frome, probably going to just miss here by the direction the clouds are moving.
My bother and his wife are just driving down towards Honiton in Devon and his wife has text saying they are driving through heavy rain and a lot of thunder and lightning, so that's probably the distant flashes I can see.
More activity today. Cold air and increasing solar heating with troughs in the mix looks good

Had an intense hail/snow shower just after lunchtime today.
Conditions favourable for some decent convective trains this afternoon - most likely SE Wales down to C S England from 3pm.
High-res picking up on a few deep cells in this area.
Could see some blackness over your way, but 10 miles off, a sunny aftenoon!

Edit: just after posting I heard thunder 😊
Very dark and windy with what looks like a squall line heading SE'wards towards here on net radar with lighting mixed in.
Torrential downpour and squall winds here now.
