20 years since this event, overnight 27th/28th March 1995. Impressive for so late in the season to get a snowy Atlantic breakdown
A cold Arctic northerly pushed southwards on the 27th March and in the afternoon, snow and hail showers broke out inland. In the evening, an Atlantic low pushed ESEwards engaging the Arctic airmass
It started snowing here in the early hours and we had an official snow cover. For an Atlantic system coming up against no block or stalling, so late in the season, pretty impressive.
