Very strong winds at the moment, recorded a gust of 30mph but that's a poor indication as trees are sheltering most of the wind, it's really howling out there and I can hear stuff blowing around all over the place, naaaasty.

Temp 10.6C and pressure 999.4mb.

A noisy night here - would be more so if the woodland here was in leaf! Strong to severe gale force westerlies, 8.3C, occasional showers, pressure has steadied at 991mb On a par with the worst of this winter's Atlantic storms.

It's also wet after some rain but that is clearing away now (can see bits of clear skies after recent murk and low cloud).

However, I'm up early because of me experiencing wind issues of a different kind, I really should have more fibre in my diet.

Turning out to be a very pleasant morning with the sun flitting between cumulus. Even the breezy wind is doing us a favour by shifting last night's dampness as well as making for excellent air quality.

Can't really complain. If only all storm systems are as well behaved as this one.

after a very noisy night, we are in the midst of very potent sunshine/shower mix.

Most recent has just moved through liverpool within the last 20 mins. Was a beast of a blustery shower. Very strong gusts (would be interesting to see the wind speed I would think up in the 50's maybe 60mph gusts in there)

Very heavy bands of rain whipping around buildings and off rooftops

Recent soft hail shower with squally winds up at around 50mph. Now quieter in a very sunny interlude - plenty of blue sky. The temp. dropped to 6.1C in the shower - more like the average for January! Pressure has risen to 1006mb.

Well had it not been so windy today would have been a cracker.
Long periods of sun, the sun is now at a point where a hat or sunglasses is needed, indexes around a 4 now.

High today of 14C and is suspect a few favoured spots probably a little higher.
