Dull, damp and rather breezy - much like what it has been in the recent Bank Holiday weekend anyway!

I am expecting the sun to come out this afternoon, though, that's when the lighter evenings do come into their own.

Was supposed to be dry but have got up to find that 8mm of rain has fallen. My sister has informed me she even saw snow falling this morning. Was supposed to be playing golf this afternoon but the course is now flooded. Stuck in an office all week looking out at dry weather and now normal service has resumed for the weekend.

Some sunshine after some rain early this morning, cooler and fresher and breezy, 9c.

Bright with sunshine and scattered cumulus.

Current temperature is 14.2 C, which is the same on this time yesterday at this coastal location!  But, of course the air quality and visibility are now so much better under the fresh westerly breeze.

Horrendous start to the day with rain falling and the temperature down to 2.6C. Heard reports of sleet inland

Improved during the morning and the afternoon saw lovely blue skies and cumulus clouds. Much better than the dirty hazy muck we had for much of the week. Only downside was the cooler temperatures but max of 11.1C is still average for April and was warmer than it reached on Wednesday.

Also pleased to have backed "Many Clouds" in the Grand National so the very thing that is the bane of my life came up trumps today
