A couple of heavy showers in the past hour. Just watching a developing cell trundle down toward York chucking a few nice CGs on the way, missed here by a few miles to the west though.

I have heard a few distant rumbles of thunder during the afternoon, but just had one which was pretty close. No rain at the moment though, and the temperature is 10.3°c

Can't seem to shake off this trail of thick cloud and bog-standard moderate rain, thus making for a grim end to the day. The lighter evenings are serving to make it easier for me to see how crap our weather is being.

To join the party albeit late in the day just had a nasty little thunderstorm producing a carpet of small to medium sized hail and a couple of pretty beefy flashes and claps of thunder as it passed. Classic skyscapes today..definitely my favourite sort of weather but 7C on a May 19th evening..not good.

Another short lived thunderstorm passing through. No warning, first strike about 1 km away.  Choked on my wine

Is that a squall line forming to the south west of the main band of precipitation?

High winds, rain, hail and thunder in Epsom approx 12.15. My golf brolly just survived but lots of others didn't. Blew through in about 10 minutes but was pretty intense.....

A decent cold front just passing through here. Some nice chaotic structure on the leading edge an hour ago illustrating the surface SW flow undercutting the advancing NW feed above. Current very heavy rain.

The squall line rattled through at about 2 pm which gave a few minutes of heavy blustery rain and gusty winds. About as long as it takes to soft boil an egg.

Interesting day with a squall line, heavy rain then heavy showers. One had incredible updraft forcing and movement. Another produced hail and thunder. Now misty in the fields and cold - just 4C...

Just had a short 'n' sharp rain/hail shower here. Some impressive convective cloudscapes early afternoon with heavy showers around for a time after passage of the main front which produced an intense band of rain. Thunder remains elusive here despite frequent flows in from the W/NW! Maybe it'll all arrive at once
