Gavin, interesting that I'd come to a similar conclusion to yours before I watched your video, in that I think this will be a marginally warm Summer with quite a number of thundery episodes. 

I'm curious to know if you think that the large area of cold water in the Atlantic might have a significant effect on the weather patterns in the UK this Summer?   Just had a check on the SST profile recently, and the cold anomaly, if anything, seems to be expanding.

It's an interesting question. 

I think this cold anomaly explains why the model's have gone cool with the temperature anomalies, but more widely in terms of the patterm it probably favours high pressure?
