I would concur. As long as we have lows digging south in the Atlantic helping to scoop up tropical air and an semi-permanent ridge over Europe, then certainly further plumes cannot be ruled out. Either way, Nothing particularly cool on today's outputs. Temps still likely to be above average I think for most throughout.

In the 30's quite widely on Wednesday

You shouldn't take the charts at face value but instead look at the surface conditions. For my neck of the woods Tues-Saturday should all see temps exceed 25C, possibly 30C on Wednesday with overnight thunderstorms. Sunday onwards it's closer to average with highs of 21-24c but possibly hotting up again for Tuesday.

Looks perfectly fine to me. 

Round here, it's likely to rain almost every day from Wednesday through the weekend & into the following week. That's a million miles away from my definition of "perfectly fine".

Lol. I can see where Saint is coming from, particularly with the points about snearing if you don't conform to the "amazing heatwave" outlook. It's not too bad on here actually. Go over to the other site and it's ten times worse. Some social media pages are an absolute farce as well. 

For here it does look like a couple of hotter and unsettled days before a return to similar temps to now and still unsettled. Just does not float my boat really, although it's still better than ten foot of snow in winter, or rain in summer with cool temps. 

Hopefully we can tap into that heat further down the line at some stage, although this time with some proper sunshine for all and no showers. That heat over the continent should stay around for a considerable amount of time. 

Bear in mind that at the start of the week there was no sign of any heat for anyone. As it is the outlook for July (from the Met Office) is pretty excellent for a summer month.

I'm not sure quite what people would call a "good spell"? A whole month of 30C+ with cloudless skies? Sorry but that just does not happen in a maritime climate. If you want heat then you have to expect showers too. Either that or move to Dubai. 

A good spell inmo is 2 to 3 weeks of 25C to 27C.

That doesn't happen every year though - not even most years. I think people should lower their expectations from the British summer. It isn't Spain, and it isn't even France or Germany. Our summers are, unfortunately, not as settled, or a sunny, or as warm. But, from what I can see, as far as MBY is concerned, we have a good five days of 25C+ weather to enjoy. Admittedly it will be rather humid, and not perfectly sunny - but you can just pretend you're in Florida.

Re rain on Saturday - yeah, it looks like there's the potential for thunderstorms in the afternoon, and that's fine by me. I like thunderstorms. Not everyone will be pleased of course. Anyway there's no point in worrying about precipitation when it's 160 hours away - it will almost certainly change. There's every possibility that it won't rain on Saturday at all.

At our latitude heat combined with the Atlantic cool air is a perfect recipe heavy showers and thunderstorms not long after any heat builds in.

Its the way it always has been and always will be because of where we are in NW Europe. 

Personally, I'd be delighted with an extended period (3-4 weeks at least) of dry & sunny weather. High temps are garnish to me - I'm happy with low-mid 20's.

Most of all, the above to be brought by a really stable synoptic pattern, so you can have some confidence in making arrangements a week or two in advance.

It depends on the data you look at.

My Weatherpro app (data from ECM) looks fantastic for these parts with sunshine all week with temps up to 30C. iphone app (data from GFS) gives Manchester a temp of 32C on Wednesday (very hot for this city) and generally a dry week.

MetO raw data is a bit more disappointing with heavy showers as early as Wednesday with temps topping out about 29C.

As we get closer to the event, we'll probably meet in the middle. For this part of the country at least, very warm or hot Tuesday and Wednesday with the potential for some big thunderstorms into Thursday. End of the week too difficult to call.

I for one am not complaining. Although to be fair we do look slightly better placed compared to you on Merseyside. :) 

Its nothing to do with "expectations". You are the first to get a cob on if is not snowing in Leeds all winter long. It's about hoping to see something a little better than average. A full week of sunshine and temps in the mid 20s is perfectly reasonable to hope for in this country. Even with the awfully mundane climate we have, that is more than possible. 

Next week will be nothing like that for most. As for Florida - you've clearly never been if you think next week will be a Floridian-type effort lol.

the only time I've ever experienced Florida summer heat in the UK was 10th August 2003 at Chesington world of adventure... Must have been around 37C and fairly humid.

I doubt it's correct as 33C is exceptional for here.

The iPhone weather app is guff. Changes several times a day. In fact I've not found one that is any good really. The Meto app is basically an app version of their hopeless online 5 day forecasts. 

I think at this stage it's now time to just watch the BBC forecasts. If I eventually man up enough to get out of bed without being sick, I may turn it on.

The Met Office app is the best of a bad bunch I think. Their hour by hour forecasts of the immediate 24 hours ahead can be spookily accurate at times. 

Weatherpro is ok as it uses ECM data. 

iPhone is probably the worst I've seen. Which is a shame as its predicting the highest temps next week! ;)
