These indoor temps will be on the rise over the next few days.


21c indoors early this morning.

The outside temperature has been higher than indoor since 10am, but now we've hit parity at 27.5c both outside and inside.

I've just returned from the in-law's house, which has insulated cavity walls, to my substandard hovel which has solid 9" brick walls. The difference is remarkable. It's still relatively comfortable inside at the in-law's house. Here, it's like sitting on the inside of a storage radiator at the end of the charge cycle.

Around 2am BST it's 24.1 C @ 72% RH in the living rm, so the beer-mat is sticking to the bottom of the cider glass


Upstairs 26.7 C @ 50% RH


Outside is 19.3 C @ 74%


Not too uncomfortable for me but the next night may be a challenge for getting a decent nights kip - especially if any heat-storms kick off

This is with all the windows open - the snag is it's not that much colder outside!



(Side note: it reached 34C before the windows were opened, but that was a couple of hours ago...)

It's rather warm!

31C in the dining room. 30C in the kitchen (which has single-glazed windows and is usually pretty cool). 31C in one of the back bedrooms. 28.8C in my bedroom, but that's with the aircon going... it can't really handle this sort of heat!

It's still 30C outdoors.

Children's rooms west facing and despite curtains closed it is still 27c in both. They happily went to bed ok! 4 year old complained the fan was too cold!
