Lightning all around at the moment but there's another storm heading this way with flashes every 1 or 2 seconds, looks nasty.

Large storm about 40miles to my West (Wimborne up to Salisbury) is delivering 60+ strikes per min).

Flashes visible to my south west.  Looks like   convection is getting going to the North West of the intense area over the New Forest - must being see lightning from that.

Holy ....! That was the most intense thunderstorm i've witnessed here, constant lightening every second mainly cc and some cg's very close and we had hail and gusty winds towards the back edge. Just checked the rain gauge which i emptied today and 35 mm has fallen in not much more than half an hour. Still flashing away to the North of me.

I see Net radar has exploded down south!

All moving northwards.

All clam here even the east breeze had dropped out with a humid feel.

Well, consensus view is that if one of these cells is heading your way, then you're in for a show! I can certainly vouch for my angry little cell that popped up over Brighton and was sparking constantly and angrily by the time it passed over us in Reigate. They're motoring north though - not hanging about.

Stay safe, and keep your curtains open if you're in the firing line. Enjoy. I'm off to bed now.
