Chichester is obviously in a rain shadow from the Isle of Wight. Storms all around us but bone dry here and not even a distant rumble to be heard.

I was counting on some rain at least to help out with the late summer bedding

It now very dry thanks to dry winds and hot sunshine so it safe from weeds from coming up. I had a hard time pulling the dried up weeds after it been dead due to lack of rain, they had been there since last year Autumn.

Some dangerous westher likely in Denmark and N Germany later. Very unstable conditions and some high end vertical shear values make a volatile combination.

A fair bit of rain for the south-east over the next few hours. Quite heavy but most of it is not electrified. There are currently a few strikes in the strait of Dover and a more intense cell of activity in the area of heaviest rain over northern France. Looks like all of this will just about miss me. Have managed to dodge all the showers so far this month. Not a drop of rain.

For here, it's showery rain, quite heavy at times. Just heard an odd rumble of thunder (so far) to the east.

Hope you'll enjoy the rest of stay (when the weather brightens up), and hope there's no flood damage!

Heard a few rumbles of thunder to the WNW of here, all bar a few minutes of moderate rain is all we have had. A bit of heavy rain now as I type.

Same here, very strong wind gusts followed by a short spell of heavy rain, still raining but not heavily. Thought I heard a rumble of thunder but it could have been an aircraft aborting it`s landing at nearby Manchester Airport.

A few rumbles here - mainly to the east, as an area of very heavy rain moved through. Winds picked up notably as it arrived. Now bright and calm/very light winds.

Steady rain here, 5.6mm in the last half hour or so. It seems to be getting a bit  brighter to the Southwest though.

We've just had a short and sweet shower go overhead, it delivered 4.4mm of rain, 1 flash of forked lightning an a massive crack of thunder, all in all about 10 minutes worth.

Torrential rain now easing off - and had a CC strike about 5 minutes ago.

Seems like the Dales are copping it again though - and that's one of the least thundery areas of England on average.

Edit: another strike and loud crack.

Thunderstorm here in Aberdeen. Extensive flash flooding across the city really bad flooding in Bridge of Don and towards Potterton. Three storms in a week, must be a city record and just in time for my annual summer holiday here.

Another cracking storm just went through here.  Checked radar not 20 mins  ago and nothing in sight!! Several close C to G which were very impressive!!

That makes 4 storms so far this summer, we even had a small distant one this morning.  More than I had in Northants for the past two years!!
