Extensive cirrostratus has now filled in the sky after what has been a truly splendid day with good sunny spells and only well scattered high cloud. And it was comfortably warm and yet fresh at the same time.

Currently 19.3 C after a peak of 21.3 C earlier on this afternoon.

Did have some sun today but it was so windy it wasn't much use for being outside. The amount of water lying around on the grass is now at a level I have only seen in 2012. This summer really is becoming every bit as bad as 2012.

A bright and breezy day with virtually unbroken sunshine until the arrival of the cloud just before 6pm. A cooler and fresher feel with the onshore SW'ly breeze holding the maximum temperature back at 20.5c.

Another poor summer day with a very strong wind, showers, an hour of sun and feeling cool at only 17 C. This summer is really shaping up to be a big disappointment in the northern UK! Would be great to spend some time outside and wear shorts!!
