Medlock Vale Weather

I've noticed lots more chestnuts/conkers than usual dropping this Autumn. Someone in my family remarked this is a sign of a bad Winter ahead as nature makes sure the animals like squirrels get stocked up. But I'm not one to believe in weather folklore.
