As you have probably read the metoffice with the Irish metoffice are going to name storms to make people more aware of them.
So what would you name your storms and why?
I would have thought having your fence blown down or shed blown over would be more than enough to make people aware.
From Met Eireann:

Given the BBC have just binned off the Met Office, perhaps the next unpleasant-looking, destructive storm could be called Tony Hall
As I have said elsewhere, I am campaigning for the MetO to use the names of minor characters from Game of Thrones. So then we can have headlines such as "Massive disruption caused by Dickon Manwoody"

What a crap idea. The tabloid media in this country are only going to subject the public with histrionic headlines with humour overtones such as Brian is to give UK a big blow or Windy Wendy is on her way or Bertie is going to let rip.
It should be a voluntary lottery for the public. £1 or similar to enter your name, the proceeds going to the Met Office, then a draw taking place."This weeks storm is named after...........Mr Nigel Smith from Tewkesbury. Congratulations Nigel"Only issue is attaching your name to a potentially deadly natural phenomenon. Otherwise, it's a go-er!
