So will it be a cold one, warm one, wild or crispy??

Seems like autumn has arrived really early down here. I don't think I've ever seen such an array of fungus in August before.

Boletus, field mushrooms, ink caps, milk caps, grass mushrooms, and more. The grass is lush green and soft underfoot.

Who knows? What is for sure is that we have some cooler nights to look forward to - with a slight frost! - Could get more frost in September than in November / December- Especially if it's due to wetter and potentially milder! - Now that would be ironic. - Time will tell.

TBH a slight frost early Sep would fit with the general trend thus far of quite cold flows from the North. By Nov it'll be all mild SWlys you wait and see lol

Just putting my Autumn forecast here for posterity;

http://www.gavsweathervids.com/autumn-2015-forecast.php

Forecast predicts a cooler than average Autumn and after a dry start, potentially quite wet and stormy.

Already "feels" colder than many recent Autumns so not a bad start... We'll see how we do.

Half dry / Half wet this month... October cooler with some fine days some frosts.  . November  dryish with wind  and frosts also.

Others just get wet.

It looks a certain that the first half to Autumn 2015 will be cooler and drier than average, you have to go back to 1986 for such a first half.

With High Pressure looking dominant for 10 days at least, October could be unusually dry for many.

I think it's going to be a good year for tree colour, plenty of near frosty nights and little wind.
In particular Ash trees are looking especially yellow already this year here, often they just drop off from green after a real subzero night.
