Saying that, I take your (implied) point that Brenton didn't get the best out of the resources he had. Markovic certiainly springs to mind.

I agree completely with Saints great post about the 'why' he has gone. However disagree with the Klopp idea and am dumbfounded by the current Liverpool fans love-in with him. With Ancelotti available, for me there is only the one choice.

..and Sakho....I just do not see it, regardless of his odd style I just think he is so far away from being the answer at the back and just do not understand other Liverpool fans waxing lyrical about them.

For me, it's that Klopp has been successful on a budget much more modest than the top team in Germany, playing football that's still attractive despite being pragmatic, and getting the best out of/improving players who aren't considered world class.

Ancelotti, a great manager that he is, has for the bulk of his career worked with clubs who are able to compete financially with the best in their league. Would he able (or willing) to build a success from a bit of a lopsided work-in-progress without the budget to pay top dollar?

The Dippers need someone like Bielsa. He's currently out of work, but would work the players like slaves, were he appointed by the hedge fund crook.

The nearest we have in the PL to Bielsa is Pochettino in terms of demanding fitness from his players.

Bielsa would certainly provide some entertainment with his 3-3-3-1 formation.

Nah, Klopp seems the perfect fit for us. Of course, the 'perfect fit' candidates do have a tendency to turn out not to be such a perfect fit

As pointed out by a few on RAWK, it's funny how fans of other clubs who were wanting Klopp to take over from their current manager when they left (City, Man U, Arsenal, even Chavski fans) are now saying he'll be a flop at Liverpool and he isn't really that good a manager after all.

I think it's fear being expressed by non-Liverpool fans that Klopp will actually do well.

At least when Brenton was in charge they knew where they were.

Anyway, the first order of business for Klopp will be to get one of these for his new home. Extremely useful for matchdays, or when he goes out to dinner with the missus.

In my defense, it's a little different for me, as I don't have a strong affinity for any club in England, seen as I grew up in Sweden. I know the rivalries and who hates who, but usually it's the managers who decide that for me, and I like Klopp. Brendan was too smarmy and full of himself to like.

I'm not turning into a Liverpool supporter, don't worry! I hope Klopp does well though
