So many things going against a colder than average winter IMO so expectations must be lower than normal, which in the case of the UK aren't all that high to start with.

With El Niño playing its hand I fear it's curtains this winter - a repeat of 13-14

Hopefully we won't have the deluge we had in 13/14 Sriram.

Gavin, some very interesting info on those October anomalies in your latest vid.  I've been doing some research of my own into October anomalies, you can see my thoughts in the Winter prospects thread which I posted today.   Particularly interesting to see those 3 Octobers, including 1951 and 1953.  I hadn't gone that far back in my analogues! - but in actual fact it reinforces what I've been thinking.

Gavin these videos are brilliant and although it's often said I'd like to thank you again for the effort you put in to them. My Sunday evenings are now occupied with watching your winter updates which my current domestic status allows me to do with full volume audio!
Your knowledge and enthusiasm is up there with the best and long may it continue 👌🏻

The shocking thing is, this seasons updates are drawing to a close already (Have just got two more Winter updates, one more model update and then the Winter forecast to do) After that I'll have to go back to work and find something to talk about, hahahahahahah!!!!
