Talk about localised conditions.  I live half a mile from the sea.  Set off under low stratus.  At the seafront...PING  sun is out.  The Tropical Maritime airmass, as soon as it hit any elevation (such as the White Cliffs in these parts) caused instant condensation and a real contrast in conditions.

Along the pier the sun was warm and many were out in T shirts even the breeze was barely cooling.  What a month we are having.

Good news - I was on holiday for the past 2 weeks so missed oodles of putrid depressing soul destroying gloom. Bad news is it's still here and no sign of it disappearing

Back to the vilest filth imaginable - dank sunless wet garbage. Truly hideous and worst of it all the moment I got back it was only 10C inside the house - marginally colder than it was outside 

Another steaming turd of an autumn that can't be described adequately without resorting to expletives. Nearly into the 2nd third of November and no sign of a frost. The lowest is just 1.6C which is ridiculous. Unprecedented to not be lower than that by this stage even over the past decade of preposterously dire and frost-free autumns.
