It looks like Gerrard will be out for three to four weeks. Kuyt, Torres, J Cole and Skrtel are doubts and Lucas is banned (though I don't think he makes much difference). It's not looking good for Liverpool for there match against West Ham this weekend.

Fully expect the top 3 to all win in this weeks prem games tho they are not all gimme's. I think Arsenal will be to strong for Spurs at the emirates and Arry's team may have one eye on the CL game this week. Brum v Chelsea is interesting.. Birmingham a strong well disciplined team that dont ship goals easily against up until recent weeks a free scoring Chelsea, just have the feeling the londoners poorish run will come to an end and get 3 pts at Birmingham. Man U v Wigan..well i am hoping that Man U get a much needed convincing win and i think they may well do... altho performances have been poor to average at best Man U still remain unbeaten and are only 3pts behind the leaders...

Tho of course given recent results the big 3 will all get beaten and i can throw my coupon in the bin !

Just impossble to call the results in the prem league this season. For many Chelsea had already won it how things are beginning to change..seems any team is capable of taking points off anyone.

Think there is off the pitch trouble at the bridge surounding Gentleman Ray's sacking an Chelsea seem lost without some of their key players.

Arsenal just how long will they have to wait for another prem league crown..? It does seem the team are being carried by Cesc and are doing their best to throw games away.

Spurs are very much contendors ,tho as always with Spurs they will scrore freely but always likely to ship in goals and thats their main concern.

Man U took 3 pts yesterday in an unconvincing display but they are still unbeaten, certainly Man U squad isnt as strong  as Chelseas, Arsenals or perhaps even Spurs,  but they have determination and drive in abundance which is lacking from the other challengers.

Good wins for Liverpool (they are now back in it) Bolton Stoke Birmingham and Blackpool.

Ony 5pts seperates 7th - 18th !!

I agree with most of that. But even in a season such as this Liverpool must have dropped too many points? They would need to go on some run from here

Bizarre games yesterday.

Arsenal had their pocket picked. They should have been out of sight after utterly destroying Spurs first half, but a goal against the run of play and a freak penalty saw Arsenal's mental frailties once more come out to play.

Not much seems to be running for Chelsea at the moment and I thought they deserved more than another

Man Utd can't claim nothing is going for them. Wigan went toe to toe with them, but couldn't get a goal, then the ref pulled on his red shirt to help the club from Old Trafford out.

They beat an out-of-form club at the bottom of the league, who were missing their best player. After utterly contemptable performances against Wigan & Stoke, Liverpool must have thought Xmas had come early. It's no turnround in fortune or form, though. We are a very poor side with a tactically inept manager blundering his way around. We haven't a hope in hell of a CL place - we'll do well to finish top half.

Seems to be some trouble at mill (or Bridge), there was always going to be more to the Butch story and I wonder if it is a deeper issue with Ancelotti and his 'team' of backroom staff.

One thing is for sure, if Ancelotti had no idea Wilkins was going to get the push, then you can imagine him being the sort of guy that would walk on principle.

It wouldn't be the first time that Abramovich seems to want more out of being a club owner than sitting back and watching his vanity project win trophies. He effectively drove Mourinho out with his meddling in team and transfer affairs; now it looks as though Ancelotti is suffering similarly. The Mirror today claims that Ancelotti has said "I have just technical direction. Full stop."

I'm wondering if the crooked Russian is a closet Man U fan..

We got a bit lucky last night against the blue half of Merseyside, however in years gone by we would have lost that match and possbily by 2 or 3, especially as Everton are a bit of a bogey team for us.

Welbeck looked a class act as he has for the last 3 or 4 games and maybe he just needed that run of first team games. I really do hope we can sign him and Nedum
