I was looking in the archive of what the weather was like last year on the 17th December and it was mild! Many people reporting 12c and here in Torquay it reached 13.3c.

Clear skies have moved in overnight but barely affected the temperature. Currently 12.7c after an overnight low of 12.3c. 

Hoping for a rare combination of solstice sunshine and exceptionally mild temperatures today !

The rising sun is shining weakly through high cloud this morning. 12.7 C and 89% humidity under a light south west breeze.

Windy and overcast, though some brightness, none of this record breaking stuff so far it's 10.3C
I see the BBC were helpfully showing winter flowering amelanchier autumnalis and describing them as spring blossom forced to bloom too early again.
They really could do with a smack.

Overact, mild, 13c.

Fairly chilly yesterday with a max of 8.4c and broke the continuous rain days with a dry day. Back to 11c at present and had just over 5mm of rain this morning. Welcome back moist tropical air.

I think we've already had the highest temperatures we're going to get here in Torquay which were 15.8c earlier this morning, its currently 14c and the cold front is coming through. All eyes now on Saturday. GFS 2m said it would be 13-15c widely today and they were spot on.

Just reached 14.0c here in sunshine and a light breeze. Fantastic stuff !

There is no difference between night and day, apart from a little more visibility during the daytime.

I don't think even 2013-14 was quite this bad. Not round here at least - I am sure there was some sunshine at least between the downpours.
