It's only a couple of months ago that I said if Man U were there or thereabouts at the end of the year, the addition of an attacking midfielder during the January transfer window might be good enough. When posting that I didn't for one minute expect to see the topsy turvy form from the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, or the lack of ascendancy of Liverpool.
No question Man U's form has been far from galvanising so far, but they have always been a very much a second half of the season team and have possibly had the best ever start to the season since the start of the Premiership. They have three crucial matches in the course of 13 days in mid-December...........home to Arsenal, away to Chelsea and home to Sunderland. 6 points or more from these fixtures will see them in a position they are not accustomed to.
It could of course all go pear shaped, with a spate of injuries to key players, and I'll be left eating my words, but right now they look like a team easily capable of taking the title again this season
