Drove back on the newly opened A361 EASTBOUND from Rackenford! Makes a change after 3 months of driving on the A377 through Eggesford and then towards Crediton...to get to Exeter.

Torrential rain and flooding around Barnstaple and then some persistent rain all the way followed by heavy rain in Tiverton.

Cooler at 8c - I think there was a hint of hail mixed in the rain!

River Exe is swollen here on the Quay as of last night! Fingers crossed! But looks like more will be forecasted tomorrow.

This morning, I can tell that we are now in an unstable showery airflow by the procession of anvil-topped cumulonimbus marching eastwards along the Channel, feeding off the still fairly warm sea surface in doing so. However, while I woke up to clear skies overhead at dawn break, it is now filled in by low cloud.

showers overnight and frequent heavy showers this morning which i feel could tot up quite a bit of rain by tomo morning here

A 'springlike' morning of sunshine and frequent showers, some sharp. Nice cloudscapes (as Ian alluded to) and rainbows at times.

A little drier late morning, but the radar and an increasingly southerly feed suggests more showers could be on their way.

Hoping for a rumble of thunder out of this...

There is a MetO warning out for these showers in the SE corner... although seeing the situation in NE Scotland, it's all relative.

Having said that, the weekend's soaking here has filled up ditches with some surface water around.

9.7 C. Like you said, Twister, I wouldn't be surprised if we get to experience an odd rumble of thunder and some hail at some point today.

5.0ºC and still raining on and off. The wind is still blowing hard from the east and the sun has not been seen all year.

Elsewhere in the east and NE of Scotland flooding is once again becoming a major issue.

There is a fair bit of rain running up the coast and hitting the Cheviots though.

Cloudy with patches of mostly light rain and drizzle here in Waterthorpe. Higher up in Grenoside, Sheffield, where I work, it's been foggy all day with persistent drizzle - dreadful!

Currently 6.2C.
