Yeah, I agree. Properly cold air just hasn't reached the bulk of the UK. It's frustrating, because we're sitting under sub -5c 850's, we're the right side of the 528dam line, 2m temp struggling to get much over 2c, yet what's falling has been predominantly rain - even inland. I'm sure we've had snow fall (and settle) on similar parameters. Is the DP currently too high???
The possible snow event tomorrow night into Sunday as that little front moves SSE'wards down the western side of the UK I fear will be a sleety mess - until it gets to the north West Midlands. Then there's more than a chance of the Monday potential snow from the trough disruption falling mostly as sleet or even rain (the last arpege run I saw suggested this)
This could go down as the biggest let-down IMBY since the crapfest that was Feb(?) 2009, when we were forecast a good snow event, but ended up with about 3 hours of freezing rain, which was interesting, but not the 10cm+ of snow if would have been.
