Been snowing here on and off since about 18:30. Should have more overnight according to weather warnings.
No reports from Cheshire/Merseyside? Surely somewhere in the NW must have new snow cover looking at the radar.
Somewhere just to the south and west of Manchester could get lucky tonight.

Anyway - was dry up until about 7.30 - then a flash and a bang of thunder very loud. 10 mins later its hailing
Since then its been Hail/Sleet/Rain... rinse repeat. Every where is wet. Though when it has hailed it has tuned grey/White - then back to wet.
Banbury has a dusting of snow, enough to lay on the roads, pavements etc
Get to work 5 miles away .................nothing , very localised

Just had a very brief but very intense snow shower. It rattled the windows. Settled on the cars but now melting. Still quite windy here, several trees down in the locality, was woken by chainsaws this morning!! Sky quite dark out to sea so maybe more?
Very cold here this morning with a nice dusting of snow covering the paths and roads. Lets hope the we can keep some of it for the weekend.
There must have been an incredibly light shower in the night in this part of Dorset near Dorchester as a few flakes on windscreen and pavements this morning.
Unusually we had a a frost with the brisk winds as well.

Had snow here yesterday evening and early night before they retreated out over the Sea just after midnight, but they've now returned with large flakes and is settling.
A heavy snow shower right now from the little line coming down the Cheshire Gap.
We must have had a few snow/hail showers last night because there's a thin covering of slush on everything - which has frozen solid, forming an ice rink everywhere. The main roads are generally OK, but the side roads really tricky. I nearly came cropper at a notorious junction - and I was only doing about 5mph!!
Some travel chaos in Merseyside today, with some major roads closed after a succession of accidents from cars losing control on sheet ice.
Anyway, looks like there's a 'Mersey Streamer' on the go. It's too narrow & too west at the moment to hit St Helens - and never going to be far enough east to reach Manchester, which is where I am today. Hoping for a bit of eastwards drift, though, and coming home tonight to a white covering.
Just had a light snow shower that was unexpected but welcomed. Just checked the rain radar and we could still get few more.
4.5c here WITH CB's looking west: - all the snow showers/wintry showers swept just west of Exeter hitting DARTMOOR: - a light covering!
Biggish chunk of PPN moving SE'wards over the Fylde Plain, heading straight for Manchester.
I'm taking bets on what's going to happen:
25-1 - falls as snow here
5-1 - the PPN band deviates course & misses Manchester
evens - it's rain/sleet
evens - the PPN fizzles out before it reaches here
I would go with both of the last options, if you run the radar animation it is already starting to fizzle out a bit as it heads inland and the precip type on the radar shows it would be rain over Manchester.

Meanwhile, a portion of PPN has sprung up further SW than the initialblob, and is currently over MBY. Not sure what's falling, though
Just had a shower in Manchester City Centre of... rain.
Kitchen sink over the last hour or so, rain/hail/sleet and finally snow !
