Looks to me it's dying a slow death, over wales it's just melting away. The north of england, maybe north east midlands & lincolnshire might be in a good spot looking at the current track, but i'm not expecting anything here.

Snowing and settling here but radar is patchy so not expecting much, temperature is steady at -0.2c so not marginal but not heavy either.

Unless the front pepps up I wouldn't expect too much anywhere.

Here it's turned sleety, presumably as a bit of mild air mixes in aloft (still sub-1c IMBY) and only briefly threatened to get heavy enough to stick.


Looking at XC Weather, I can see that Liverpool & Hawarden both have DP's of +2c. However, Crosby, right on the coast just north of Liverpool, has 1c DP, whilst Woodvale, Blackpool & Barrow all have 0c DP's, so presumably colder air is feeding southwards. I'm hoping that this will be a symptom of the cold block 'fighting back' to stop the eastwards drift of the PPN (and milder temps). There's plenty of PPN to my NW, seeming to be heading in my direction. Not throwing the towel in just yet!!!

At least there is a good amount of snow on the Brecon Beacons. Most of it fell on Thursday and Friday.

The radar shows some precipitation ahead of the band overhead here but it is completely dry.
Hoping the SE element of the wind will enhance any precipitation over eastern up slopes.

The 12z GFS definitely moves things eastwards - all the way to Kent, in fact! Somewhere just east of the rain/snow dividing line is in for a fair amount of snow, although whether it ends up as shown remains to be seen... I'd bet it wobbles back and forth right to the last minute!

As others have commented it does seem to be further east than the models suggested. From thinking we might be on the eastern fringe and get the odd centimetre I'm not wondering if we'll be too near the milder side of the frontal trough.

Though it may start to push SSE as it run's in to the colder air to the East and fizzle out.

Looks a lot further East. Is there a chance some of that might even hit here? We've still got lying snow in the garden from a few days ago, but it's very icy - could do with a top up!

As the frontal system clears central England it was forecast to push more SSE. Now that it seems to be moving in a more Easterly direction i wonder if it shunts SSE toward midnight giving places such as Burton on trent, Coventry, Warwick and Oxford a great deal of Snow overnight. It may even give us in the W.Mids a good chance of hitting a home run with some snow. (Here's hoping)
