Thanks everyone.

You are all very kind. It is a very hard time but we have a LOT of great memories of Dad and these are the memories you cling to during the dark moments.

The kindness shown to us by everyone has been a tremendous comfort as well.

Thanks all.

Great to see you back, Gavin. So sorry to hear of the passing of your dad recently; my condolences to you & your family and hope you're OK.

I really hope that after the El Nino event has ended, the ENSO does manage to remain neutral at least until the latter stages of the summer this year. Much of the country really could do with a good one to let the place dry out after such a wet winter thus far, not least the areas that have been affected by flooding. I know that there was a big El Nino during the 82/83 winter and I can only hope that this year's pattern as we move into summer follows something along the lines of 1983 rather than 1998, the last year with an El Nino as big as the present one. 1998 was a pretty poor summer for much of the UK, especially the further NW one happened to be. FWIW, a repeat of 2003 wouldn't go amiss either!
