I believe that it is already the wettest on record here. I'm not sure about mildest nor whether you are referring to the UK, England or your location. It may be in all three cases!

Shame it couldn't have been the sunniest winter on record like last year. 😞

I think it's odds on for the mildest winter on record in England - probably not the UK record as it has been colder at times in Scotland. Certainly we are pretty much certain of being at least in the top 5 of the wettest winters of all time

I think it's going to take a pretty sustained cold spell - with temps not much above freezing over England for at least 7 to 10 days - for us not to take the England warmest winter on record - and there's fat chance of seeing that for the rest of Feb and March

Yes.  We need only for February to be around 5.5C (CET) for this to happen.  The seas are warmer, the air is warmer, the land is warmer, there is less ice to the north, than in many past winters. My CET February guess was around 5.8c, so I'm hoping for a mild month.  The conditions are not conducive to snow this year IMBY.

Winter? What winter??

Yes its nailed on to be the warmest in the cet record, not sure about the uk as a whole though

Down here we have,in effect, totally bypassed winter and could be known as the winter that never was.Just 2 frosts to date and that is incredible! The lowest max has been 5.7c and only 11 days the temp has failed to reach double digits, most of those saw 8c+.

Prehapes this thread could also be called the longest Autumn on record
