The region is called "London and southeast England", so yes they have.

Certainly windier generally this morning than last night here although there were some strong gusts in the squall front last night.

I've been waiting for the strongest winds to come here and although there have been intermittent loud gusts, there's no damage I can see up or down the street, N or S. Paper pieces are blowing around- that's it. Saturday was worse.

Increasingly frequent lulls mean I've been out in the garden several times.

Been a dry and bright today, although winds have increased significantly since earlier. I just got my power back on after an hour-long powercut.
Last night also had very violent gusts for a time.

79 mph gust at Portland.

Kind of lethargic here, occasionally getting more volatile but overall a similar story to most of the inland south. The direction of the wind is exactly what's needed to take the sting out of it as for central parts as it crosses the areas of higher terrain across the far SW.

Yet I'm still refraining from walking too close to the trees, just in case

Here in Mid Suffolk, the wind speed is steadily increasing. Mean speed of around 25-30mph, gusting to 55mph. Haven't yet got the unearthly continous shrieking that occurs from our power cables when the mean hits 40mph+

Imogen certainly is making her presence felt here. What's left of next door's two-years old panel fencing in my back yard has been ripped to shreds and I can hear the west-facing front door's letterbox rattling away in the wind. Other than that, no real issues yet, especially since it had stayed dry with even some decent bright spells so far today. Just being a bit annoying in-your-face as I don't like strong winds.

However, despite my hatred for gale force winds, I took myself to East Cliff beach when it was high tide at 10.30 am, and even then the gales hadn't properly kicked in at that time . . .

(Why does images end up looking squashed in TWO when it is in the correct proportions in the preview?).

Yes agree, an excellent picture. I'm finding all your reports fascinating. I realise friction & other factors reduce a wind's net force inland, but the difference over just these 15-20 miles is interesting. Maybe the wind direction is just right to increase the land-fetch here massively. I'll go and have a look at some charts to see if the IOW is sheltering Pompey/ Chichester at all.

Seems today was highly localised then. Wall next to our London Bridge office was blown down (temp brick wall - disastrous if any one had been walking beside it when it went!) and crossing the bridge at around 2pm I felt the strongest gusts I have ever felt in London. Was certainly wild!

Just had a local news preview on the tv mentioning widespread damage across the area, here has got off scott free . I reckon the Mendip hills have deflected the worst of the winds away from us today ta muchly.

As gusty as Saturday with more oomph . Occasional downpours . The highlight here was last evening squall. A few schrubs and trees down not many so far.

You're confusing the rather sharp line segment structure yesterday evening, which had some very strong gusts associated with it, with the broadscale flow today which is yet to peak for the Solent region.

There is no reason to believe anyone has been 'caught out' as you say, especially as today's winds have not peaked yet.

Certainly the windiest spell of the winter in this part of Dorset seven miles or so from the coast.
A lot of small branches down and our fence needs attention tomorrow. The Frome nearby is in flood and water tables at a healthy level again. All in all the storm delivered what was promised.
