Light snow falling as I drove to work in Bath this morning.
Had great fun on friday night as heavy wet snow fell for a couple of hours in Warminster, and just had to go for a walk in it! Saturday morning and most was gone, but some intrepid souls were sledging on nearby Cley Hill. Over towards Frome there seemed to be more snow still lying, so I assume it had been heavier/colder there.
Doesn't make 2015-16 a great winter, but i did at least get to walk in snow...
Another dusting of snow this morning. Is that it for Winter here who knows?
A soft hail / graupel and snow shower has been in progress for the last 15 minutes. Its trying its best to stick to the cars. Air 1.6c / Dew 0.2c.
A can imagine it is a more wintry scene over the higher ground locally.

Snowing lightly here in Berkhamsted this morning. Metaphorically speaking this one slipped under the radar for me.

Very odd.
Had a 5 minute fall of snow this morning....
This morning here was very nearly an epic snowfall event - it just needed the temperature to be down by about 0.5c more than it was. The temperature dropped through the night from a high of around 5.5c to just above 2c at 6:30am and from then on the rain which had been falling hard turned to snow. The temperature bottomed out at 0.3c at around 8am by which time there was an inch or so of very wet and slushy snow covering everything. What made it spectacular was the strength of the wind and the intensity of the snowfall - huge flakes being blown horizontally in just under gale force winds. It stuck to everything which meant that whole sides of buildings exposed to the wind were covered. Further down the hill it stayed as rain throughout but there was quite extensive flooding. Had is been colder I think we would've had huge drifts and a very large depth of snow - a case of so near and yet so far. But it has given me a taste of what winter could be like when you live at over 1000ft -roll on next year!!

In Cumbria the difference between the weather at 500feet and 1000feet is often remarkable.
