A rubbish winter, but not as bad as 2013-14.

If we are counting strictly metreological winter , for me 3/10 , a bit better than 97/98 in terms on longivity of snow and better than 2013/14. A few decent frosts.

However March so far has already produced 13cm snow. Clearly the public are not going to distinguish this from winter and from my own personal experience I am just as happy as if it fell in December. Winter is perhaps far from over. I will evaluate at the end of March.

Very poor here with no lying snow and a few wet flakes on one day of winter and then some today. So it's a 1/10 for me.

3/10 from me.

Most of those marks go to February which was really pretty decent with quite a few days of blue sky and pleasant sunshine. December and most of January was grey, dreich, damp and depressing. The mildness was rendered irrelevant by the persistent strong winds.

No lying snow again this winter but that's not unusual for my location. I think I saw falling snow on three days. More unusual is the lengthy period of time since the last measurable snowfall in Crail (1cm or more). That was in December 2010.
