Hazy mist for most of the day but the sun has still been shining bright through it.. Still a nip in the air with temps only struggling to 12C :/

Another grey cold and damp day here but joy of joys I saw a few patches of blue sky this afternoon. However overall here the cold and grey easterly garbage continues unabated.

Another fine settled day again.  Beast from the east was still cool.

On the subject of cool I see that down the road at Inverbervie, stuck in the fog all day, the max so far had been in the region of 4.5°C.

Had the day off so was able to go up to Braemar to enjoy some lovely weather. Was like being abroad though you could also say that about what we've been subjected to here. From Faeroe Islands to Faro and back again that's what it felt like today.

7th day out of 9 with under an hours sunshine Thankfully I'm being allowed to carry my remaining holidays over to next financial year as this month is turning out to be a complete disaster. Worse than the vast majority of winter

July was a scorcher.. Best heatwave nationally since 2006.

28C or higher was achieved for 19 consecutive days in that July, and temperatures breached the  30C threshold (33C) on a few days too. This all official by the way.

June wasn't to bad a month, but August though starting hot (34C) was quite average in the end.

4c stratus with drizzle that appears almost to contain ice...a cold NE wind too.  One of the coldest days of this late winter thus far.

Tomorrow we are expecting a max of 7c in the SW. If this pattern had occurred a couple months back it would be 0 or +1C with a raw easterly wind-chill of -3 or -4c !!

Utterly repellent grey **** for the 3rd Saturday in a row Just when is this crap going to end? Three months ago December set a new record low, in my 9 years of records, of just 0.8 hours sun across the four Saturdays and this horrific month is on course to break that

Some really vile charts have been showing up for Easter Weekend that would cement this month's position amongst the very worst, should they come off. Of course it wouldn't become unsettled because it has never been anything but. Even with pressure over 1030mb for a week it has been drizzling/raining nearly every single day

Endless featureless stratus garbage day in day out with only 2 days since the 8th managing >1hr sun, no frost and maxes between 4 and 8C for what seems like an eternity. An utterly wretched, depressing and extremely boring good-for-nothing period of hell. The return of the westerlies just can't come soon enough to end this horror show.

Bloody hell Richard take it easy! Always love reading your posts.

Just shows how varied our climate can be as here in Cumbria March has been very dry and sunny with many clear if frosty days and only 22mm of rain in the first 3 weeks.

Some days have been truly marvelous with wall to wall sunshine, however, all that has now come to an end and the return of westerlies will mean a return of wind and rain.

Thermometer says 10C but it feels more like 6C with a cold NW wind and complete lack of insolation. It is not pleasant at all outside.

How much more of this do we have to put up with? It's awful. Just an early start to recent summer hell patterns whereby instead of normal westerlies it alternates between endless cloud of the North Sea and endless cloud spilling down from the North Atlantic. This time of year NW'lys should be giving sun and showers not this grey rubbish

Quite a mild day today..

It was already fairly mild at 8am this morning and temps today have climbed to 14C despite a fair bit of cloud cover. Sitting here listening to a warbler chirping away as I type this 😊
