Unusually cold and for some (example in north and on hills) wintry week to come.

Will have the latest ENSO update this evening. Tomorrow it's the second seasonal model round-up for Summer 2016.

Thanks as ever for your support and to Brian and the Mods for making it happen!

EDIT: Here's the second Summer 2016 long range model update: http://www.gavsweathervids.com/summer-2016-forecast.php

Cheers as always Mr Gavin. Looks like a bit more patience will be required in terms of waiting for any real warmth coming our way. Unless I turn the heating back on again.

Using ten long range models to try and get a consensus on what may happen during the Summer.

Will add this to the Summer updates page with a written summary for those that can't watch the video later.

Thanks Gav

I enjoyed the updated summer forecast - a lot more promising for us in the SE compared to the previous runs a few weeks back

I don't think the progged La Nina forecast has significantly changed in the last few weeks so it now looks as though (and if the forecasts turn out to be accurate !) we will be bucking the trend on bad summers when El Nino turns into La Nina in that year as you mentioned last week

Hi Lanky,

I still wonder how much of a "front-loaded" Summer pattern may be at work here as well. Can sometimes be hard to tell when you have a three monthly anomaly whether one half of "off-setting" the other half.

Anyway, I've added the second Summer 2016 model update to Summer updates page;

There's a written summary if you can't watch the video.

Thanks Gav. So there we have it expect a complete flip to cool unsettled conditions as we head through May.😜
