Now 18mm after some truly torrential rainfall earlier today - heaviest rain I've seen in ages, half expected thunder and lightning. Definitely 'summer rain'. Didn't last long mind.

The latest dry interlude this month lasted 5 consecutive days here between the 12th and 16th inclusive. Just 0.5mm on the 17th and 2.7mm on the 18th, so now running a little below the monthly average. Chance of a more significant splash on Saturday 21st as that frontal system may make slower progress eastwards ...

Total now at 26mm.

31mm to add from today .. some torrential bursts of rain from the slow-moving cold frontal system. 4.5mm on the 19th. Now at 61.5mm .. so now looking very likely indeed that this month will come in above average here

0.5mm on the 22nd, 3mm on the 25th. Total now at 65mm - just above the month's average. It remains to be seen if Bank Holiday Monday significantly adds to my total - the 100mm mark is a possibility - it will depend on how much moisture is in that warm airmass that may move in from the east, and the track of the associated low pressure system. Being subjective - bank holidays usually deliver ...

22.6mm here - a mainly dry month despite continual onshore winds and cool temperatures.
Tuesday might boost us to 30mm.

Nothing measurable since the 26th where 0.6mm fell. Total now at 65.6mm. Bank Holiday Monday now looks fine and dry here and not the complete washout some models were showing a few days ago! Good news for my son's camp & BBQ  Now looking like a month just slightly above average here - maybe just a couple of mm to add on the 31st?

7.8 mm in the early hours and into the first half of this morning as the band of heavy rain move westwards towards Sussex/Hampshire area. Not too exceptional for here and it's now stopped raining but still cloudy with a brisk northerly breeze.

If only it is early February. Probably give us 4 to 6 inches of snow with drifting over Kent by now.

Still dry here and the slowly approaching warm front from the east doesn't look like producing much precip here - especially when it has crossed the Pennines? Certainly a lot drier than some models were showing a few days back, as I mentioned. High pressure being more stubborn than expected! Yep, we get the best winter synoptics in Spring! I wonder when the June monsoon will kick in? Handy for us gardeners & growers

I hope to experience a spell of at least near-summer-like weather before the obligatory June monsoon takes over (yes, I do believe that does exist and something that could be expected most years).

No measurable rain since the 26th.

Final total = 65.6mm - just above the 62mm average.
