Although air temps were a little lower than yesterday when the morning gloom cleared it was clear blue sky all day. In the sun it was once again tanning weather. I took a picture on my way home.

This is the bottom of the hill I live on. There's steps built into the hillside leading all the way to the top which is great because it would be a nightmare getting to the top following the roads that wind up there. I'm about one third up in the picture, its a great place to live if you want to keep fit and love sweating a lot.

Its crazy how steep it is and how much I sweat when walking home. There's steps built into both ends but on the eastern edge they start at sea level and go right to the top, I was actually walking over there when I took the shot. The trees were cleared from the hillside and it was reopened in 2010. Rocks began to fall because the tree roots were splitting the hillside apart and after a large rock came down at the back of the Torbay Hotel they decided to do something about it. When the hillside was cleared steps that light up at night were built into the central part of the hill.

The new steps in the centre of the hill lit up at night.

You can see it from the air near the left of the picture in context to the rest of the town here. The picture was taken when it was still being built so the huge crane is still there. If you click on the pic it enlarges it a little more.
