Expecting the first half of this month to have less convective rainfall - as the the set-up looks more mobile, but I wouldn't be surprised to see another 100mm+ month here - going by how the charts are looking atm.

7.6mm already and, with barely a third gone, this summer has already produced 72% of the whole season rainfall. It will take a miracle for it not to end up as the 9th wetter than average summer in 10 years

15.4mm so far .. narrowly avoided the really intense convective cores! I may have to revise my thoughts on the first half of the month seeing less-convective rainfall ...

25.2mm already which is 46% of the whole monthly average

Still waiting on a final total for Dyce for June but it is certain that the first six months recorded over 500mm which only happened once in the entire 20th century - in 1969. Seems likely it will have been even higher this year and hence the wettest first half of a year since 1877

I've noticed I've measured barely 1 mm of rain in 9 days. I'm thinking that the way things are shaping up, this July is destined to be a drier than average month at this end - even if it isn't being accompanied with real warmth. June had more than twice the average June rainfall amount (107 mm against the average 45 mm).

A terrible 35.6mm up to yesterday - more than twice the average which seems to be the new norm

143.0mm in the last 30 days which is the wettest spell of weather in summer since 2007 when there was 152.4mm between 23rd June and 22nd July. The fact that it's even worse than the worst 2012 produced (134.2mm, 19 June - 18 July) just says it all

Persistent, occasionally heavy rain last night led to some flooding on roads this morning. There's a section that's prone to run-off from a farmer's field when the field is saturated - and this happened this morning.
