Anywhere near the East coast, exposed to the Easterly breeze are seeing lower temperatures. For example Southend 19°c, Norwich and Newcastle 18°c, even Gravesend 19.8°c, and here 20.9°c (all midnight temps), whereas Heathrow, a few miles further inland was at 24.3°c.

Yes, next to impossible without A/C. I have tried all sorts of ways over the years, but given up now. Currently 29.5°c in my room.

Aaaaaaaaah, that's better, after what has been the most muggiest stickiest night in yonks (it didn't get any lower than 23.7 C at 5.30 am, but I wonder if it because the sensor was still picking up residual heat from a brick wall, like a storage heater), I can now feel a notable sea breeze starting to pick up thus making it feel fresher and airy even though the weather is still quite clear and sunny.

Just clouded right over now, along with a brisk south west breeze making it feel comparatively fresh and airy. All that is causing the temperature to fall back slightly to 20 C but humidity to rise slightly to 70%.
