55.4mm so far and a few more mm to add later from the manual gauge once the current cold front moves through (the electronic gauge is suffering from algae build up due to the frequent damp/humid conditions)

^^ seems to be a big east-west split this month. Cheshire/Manchester/Liverpool etc reporting around 60mm+ of rain, in these parts generally below 20mm. Gotta love the Pennines.

So far a very zonal month with a big N/S split as well as an E/W one. Very typical of a winter month in fact.

It's not rained much in the SE since the Brexit vote. We've become a bit less continental and a bit more Atlantic.

Central France where I head on holiday shortly: 120mm in June, so far only 20mm in July.

But Britain and Northern France still have very wet soils from the June deluge. Here are the soil moisture anomalies as of Monday:

If the link doesn't work play around with the variables on the left. A wonderful (EU funded) tool.

it's been a dry three weeks or more with the River Frome that runs five minutes from where we live at a low level considering it's a chalk stream.

Lots of gravel banks appearing where there is usually water and it seems we could be entering a drought without many people realising. A little drizzly rain last night but all dry again this morning. Grassy areas are looking yellow in many places particularly Weymouth.

Three consecutive daily soakings of around 9mm have taken the rain total to 73.8mm. 135% of the full monthly average so yet another wet July. Only 2014 has been drier than average since 2009 which is just ridiculous

18 days with measurable rain, two trace days and only two dry days. The worst stats for any summer month I can recall.
