That seems very early Michael, even for Scotland. Is this normal for the region?

I do recall that back in the late 40's, early 50's, snow was sometimes seen on the Scottish mountains during August.

Overcast with drizzle, there was a short spell of moderate rain not so long ago. Also on the windy side courtesy of a fresh south west breeze.

Despite all that, it is feeling on the muggy side at 19.0 C & 92% H.

Incidentally I have recorded 21.5 mm of rain since 9 pm last night, I think it could be a little higher because it was windy last night and my rain gauge positioned in my east-facing back yard may be slightly sheltered by my house.

Just about staying dry here! Just a hint of drizzle at times but not even slightly wetting the ground. Feeling pleasantly warm with the winds having dropped to a very light SE'ly and the temp. is at 20.3 C @ a fairly humid 73% - not far off a summer's day - UK style  Continuing doing more work on the garden - nice to have some dry weather and not baking sunshine to work in!  Regards from me & the family. 

One day he'll short himself out and vanish in a puff of smoke   The fine weather here has made the adjoining country park quite busy today but just a few bash street kids on the exotic baccy close by and no boozers, so quiet enough!

Current conditions pic .. Can you spot my new rain detector on the shed roof? If it rains it vanishes .. but not in a puff of smoke

We had earlier hazy sunny spells here - a really pleasant day for walking. It's trying to brighten up again now but overall an overcast scene. If the sun came out properly for any length of time it would be too warm for anything more than a stroll, in my case, due to it being quite humid - I'm built for comfort! 

Overcast, very muggy in light winds, 20c.

Sunny intervals, light winds have veered to the SW, 20.7 C @ a muggy 76% RH  Now hoping for some convective action over the next couple of days, as Polar Maritime air undercuts this moist Tropical Maritime airstream ...
