Still a dry month at 13.6mm and increasingly the annual total is starting to look quite low at 481mm (-62mm)

Just 0.5mm since the 10th, total now at just 14.7mm. The plum season has just started and what I don't need is for it to turn wet in the near future!

Some heavy showers just off the coast from me at the moment moving into direction -

With these conditions there is plenty of fuel for them when they make it in off the sea...

Southampton area looks to have seen a good hour of rain especially to the west of the city, over the new forest.

This lot moved slowly and erratically North and East over about 1-1.5 hours...

17mm so far this month. Things are pretty dry here with grass now barely growing and leaves turning yellow on the Birch trees around here.

Looks like a change tonight as I expect a good lot of rain overnight here.

A good dollop of rain overnight - 15mm giving us 32mm to date this month (more or less all the rain came last night and on the 1st). Should be enough to end what was the beginning of a drought.

After a few very wet days between the 19th and 22nd, the total is now up to 70.2mm to the 23rd here. Looking like another potentially wet day on the way tomorrow too, so August looks like being a wetter than average month here.
