Looks as though parts of England could be in for a rather eventful day tomorrow for storms of the BBC forecast I saw at 6:30pm has it right!

Those are great photos!

Interesting thing is that the sky in the two photos doesn't appear to be overly dark to me, unless it was actually darker than the photos suggest.

Very nicely captured, especially considering it was daylight.  I really like the second photo.

I came across this YouTube video last night of a storm in New York a couple of weeks ago. Some pretty impressive lightning strikes here!

Got home from the shops just in time! Absolutely gazumping in down here now - we seem to have caught the heaviest radar echoes from the swathe of rain over central England currently.

Very heavy rain here from developments to the east of the rain band. No lightning though.

Got soaked to the bone earlier walking home from Sainsbury's - heaviest rain I've seen all year. As per above though, no T&L.

There looks to be quite a nice line of activity moving through Ireland currently and will probably clip westernmost parts of Scotland overnight.

It could get a bit noisy around the Hastings area very soon.

A rumble of thunder... looks like the first heavy rain for weeks is about to hit, courtesy of a thunderstorm!

Lat night turned out to be an unexpected classic in this part of Kent.

2am: Woke up to thunder and constant lightning every 2 seconds, not counting the multiple flashes many of them were making, - quite a lightshow! The main pulse was just to my east, close enough to produce a constant rumble with a few louder ones to boot.

4.45am: Woke up again to thunder and lightning every 20 seconds or so, although this quickly developed to every 3-5 seconds to become another impressive display. This took a more direct hit with some strikes in very close proximity, with some heavy rain for a short time. Both storms seemed to be moving at a fair rate of knots.

It's been so sticky, and glad it resulted in hundreds of flashes.

A sultry night with the temperature falling no lower than 19.5c. There was some decent CC discharges from a thunderstorm that moved SW to NE just to my west between 2.00am and 2.20am. A short burst of intense rain gave 0.4mm.

Dewpoints remain high this morning at circa 19-20c.
