Lat night turned out to be an unexpected classic in this part of Kent.
2am: Woke up to thunder and constant lightning every 2 seconds, not counting the multiple flashes many of them were making, - quite a lightshow! The main pulse was just to my east, close enough to produce a constant rumble with a few louder ones to boot.
4.45am: Woke up again to thunder and lightning every 20 seconds or so, although this quickly developed to every 3-5 seconds to become another impressive display. This took a more direct hit with some strikes in very close proximity, with some heavy rain for a short time. Both storms seemed to be moving at a fair rate of knots.
It's been so sticky, and glad it resulted in hundreds of flashes.
