Just 39.8mm month to date and only light showers forecast for the early hours tomorrow.

We are now up to 64mm, so comfortably above average..

It's fallen on 8 days in total though, which is a normal number of rain days. Kind of like August 2013 - warmer than average, but high rainfall total due to 1 or 2 very wet days. Over half of this month's rain has fallen on 2 days - today and the 11th.

Just 7mm here this month - there was heavy rain earlier today for less than a minute, but it stopped after making the ground damp. Still, there are fringe benefits: the lawn's not grown for 5 weeks now!

Yesterday turned very wet later with a train of thundery showers though no actual thunder.
There seems to have been about 29mm from the storm total though hard to believe with blue sky and drying wind this morning.
That more or less doubled the month total on 62.6mm but that's still below average - (91mm)
More expected late Saturday.

About 11mm here and it could well stay below 15mm right up to the end of the month.

So this summer a strange pattern. A big NW/SE split in June with a soggy South and average or slightly dry North, and then the extreme opposite for 2 months in a row.

By end of August some places in the South may have had less than 20mm in two months, but the reason there's no drought is because of the deluge in early summer.

Similar state of affairs in France. Large areas South of Paris were having hundred year floods at the end of May, now those same areas are under drought restrictions and hitting the high 30s.

My final total for August is 67mm, slightly above our average.

Total Summer rainfall was 172mm, just a tiny bit above our average of 167mm.   In fact I would call it an average Summer for rainfall here.
