Temperature already several degrees into the 20's... the odd thing is I keep forgetting that it's not even 10am

Slept surprisingly well last night but only after the seemingly mandatory fight with a non-existent person in my room at around 1am. Whenever I get hot, I have that sort of dream, but only once, after which I tend to sleep fine. Does make the idea of one day sharing a double bed seem risky though

I'm loving the warm mornings eating breakfast outside. If I could sleep early and wake early (yeah... dream on) then I would, as 6-9am is IMO an amazing time of day during a summer heatwave.

Feeling robbed again by heathrow! !

They can put a weather station next to the runway of one of the busiest airports in the world and say.that's ok for temperature recording but its not ok to put one in a built up area in the solent region.

29.5C in gosport. Almost certainly warmer in interior & northern portsmouth. Im however right by the sea on southwest tip of island and its a cool 25C or so with an on shore breeze.

Just back from a 26 mile bike ride from Basingstoke out to Watership Down. The countryside is looking absolutely stunning in this heat: poppies blazing, cornfields ripening, butterflies everywhere. Just reminds me what we have been missing these last few years. Air rather hazy in the distance but I could still just about make out the Shard an the London skyline way out to the east. Just measured and that is almost 54 miles as the crow flies! Anyone know what the furthest point from London you can see the Shard is?

I honestly think even parts of lee on solent where warmer then the metoffice beach station today lol

Edit: yes even lee on solent surfers website weather station has been warmer... around 27C it looks.
