Very interesting read. He didn't fare so well with his forecast issued at the end of June, but nobody's perfect... or even close in the world of long range forecasting

Looking at the temperature ranges he gives for the next 10 days, the upper ends seem a bit on the low side to me. Noticed that in previous forecasts - they're usually lower than the model consensus for some reason.

Nobody could ever accuse Terry of ramping things up for the sake of it could they?

In that respect, he reminds me of Paul Bartlett (RIP).

Not sure if anybody has ever noticed but Paul still lives on with a term I sometimes use "Gently Unsettled"

I always liked that term and until I saw Paul Bartlett using it I'd never heard it before, so I think of it as his term when I use it on occasion. 

I like to think it's a little homage to the great man.
