No rain here again today - there was some thunder and lightning last night but the downpours of rain in showers went to the east of Devon up to South Somerset - All the storm activity was from Exeter Eastwards of the M5 from to Bristol. So we missed the rain.

Now been 3 weeks without rain and two and a half weeks of 25+c temperatures and sunshine.

You didn't need an alarm clock this morning in my area.

Couple of loud thunderstorms - Maximum 27C in a very cloudy scene - amazing really.

Observations between 7.15 pm last night and 7.45 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: It started off as being quiet and hazy . . . and then *boom!*, at 2.30 am a violent thunderstorm came roaring in with gusty wind, heavy rain, hail and of course the continuous sheet and forked lightning.
It eased away at 4 am but remained quite cloudy.
THIS MORNING: Partial cloud cover and hazy sunny spells.
THIS AFTERNOON: More in the way of cloud cover, but still with the occasional bright intervals.
CURRENT: Rather overcast, recent light rain but can see clear skies over the Channel.      21.2 C.        79% humidity.        Dewpoint: 17.9 C.        Calm winds.          Falling slowly to 1007.1 mb.

WINDS: Calm last night then it suddenly became very gusty for a time in the small hours but became calm again by dawn and during the day.
AIR QUALITY: Fair.
VISBILITY: Good. Some haze.
COMFORT FACTOR: Very wet last night which made it very muggy and stuffy this morning but it became a little fresher in the afternoon. It finally broke the 20-day long dry spell and the lawn is certainly appreciating it.
RAINFALL (in mm):  19.8 but I think it should be a lot more than that!
TEMPERATURES (in C):         Max: 26.0 at 2.45 pm.             Min: 18.7 at 3 am.
PRESSURE (in mb):              Max: 1009.7 at 2 am.          Min: 1006.8 at 7 am.
