Rather more in the way of cirrostratus has filled in the sky since this morning but I am appreciating the freshness. Temps is at 20 C so it's not exactly what I would call "cold".

Mist and low cloud is trying ever so hard to roll in from the sea here at Folkestone Harbour but at the same time the sun is doing it's best to beat it back. Feels lovely and fresh in this brisk SW wind, though.

Temperature is holding steady at 21 C, though.

EDIT: A few minutes later and the sea-induced low cloud appears to be winning this "tug of war".

EDIT again: Oh, wait, it's now turning sunny again.

RE-EDIT again . . . Oh, it's come over cloudy again. It's changing more often than a set of traffic lights.

Must be where sea fog is trying to move onto the coast under this fresh SW wind and there is this "oscillating" effect with the sun and fog trying to balance each other out.

Does this low cloud and mist had been over the sea for many weeks without clearing away?  Still 15Csea temps over the coastal areas because of those clouds keeping the sun out to keep it well below average.

Hi Jiries. Seems that this low cloud has finally won out as it's quite overcast as I type, along with the fresh SW breeze making the 20 C feel quite cool. I'm seeing a lot of WTF-type expressions on people's faces as they are trying to find a way to spend the first day of the school summer holiday.
  I think the recent storm which gave a good dollop of rain over here must have altered the local humidity levels as well as the soil moisture hence the sea fog that has been hanging over the Channel for most of this morning being able to make landfall (probably aided by the obligatory afternoon sea breeze). Or perhaps the recent "heatwave" had little effect on the SSTs over the Strait Of Dover.

PS: The wind's picked up and is looking quite choppy over the sea. But it is trying to brighten up again as I type.
