Where do the TWO weather forecasts originate from, are they from the MetO ?

I have an issue with the Total Rainfall forecasts. On the 10 day forecast for Cheadle Hulme, next Sunday 28th July forecasts 61.2mm. I think this is an incredibly high forecast for 1 day.

Also the total rainfall forecast for yesterday was around 48mm (although that was later reduced to around 35mm)

We actually had 17.6mm yesterday.

So it seems that the rainfall forecasts are wildly inaccurate. Where do they come from?
